Vito's at Lake Anna Expands with The Lounge

One of Lake Anna's favorite restaurants, Vito's on the Lake, is expanding their space to the second floor of the Lake Anna Plaza building at 200 Lake Front Drive. Vito's has described The Lounge as "the hangout spot at Lake Anna". It will be a great spot for a quick bite and drinks, but the space can also be rented out for private events.

Vito's on the Lake opened in 2015 and has quickly become a staple in the Lake Anna community. Excitement is building as customers have seen the expansion taking place at the current location.

Vito's on the Lake currently holds two of the spots on the Lake Anna Visitor Center Top 20 Meals at Lake Anna list! Vito's offers specials regularly and daily specials during the week. The current Vito's menu offers pizza, salads, pasta, sandwiches, paninis, calzones, and a variety of desserts. It is unclear yet if The Lounge will offer the same menu as the restaurant downstairs.

Owner Vito Taormina moved from Italy to the United States in 1989 with the dream of becoming a successful restaurateur, learning to make his famous New York style pizza in an upstate New York Italian restaurant. He moved to Virginia in the early 1990s, got married and started a family and started launching successful Italian restaurants around the state.

Taormina has opened and operated six restaurants in the state, as well as two in North Carolina, with help from his wife Angela, his daughter Rosalia and sons Rosie and Carlo.

Lake Anna food choices are multiplying by the season. We at the Lake Anna Visitor Center have compiled a list of 20 meals every visitor should try. Read on to see the top 20 meals in order of waterview first then proximity.

Veal Milanese

The veal milanese was served with pasta and a delightful arugula-tomato mix. “The veal portions were generous, wonderfully tender, and subtle. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce...delicious!”

Snow Crab Legs
Tim's at Lake Anna
If you want crab legs, head to Tim's at Lake Anna! Beautiful view of the water while you dine, in or outdoors. A large menu full of many items, but there's something about crab legs. A definite must have at Lake Anna!

The beef brisket is slow-cooked on site and served fresh, with your choice of sides. For the little ones, try the 2 BBQ sliders kids special!

The freshly prepared hibachi (available in filet mignon, ribeye, chicken, shrimp, vegetable or a combination of chicken/shrimp) is delicious and the lunch portions are a bargain!

Jumbo Lump Crab Cake

The baked Fredericks Hall Casserole contains crab meat, baby lobster tails & shrimp in a delightful medley of seafood flavors in a rustic old railroad station in a farm setting, family owned & operated by Ken and Melody Bowers. Make sure you say hello as this couple is part of the restaurant's charm!

Absolutely the best pizza in the world. Sometimes I order just the cheese so I can savor every bit of flavor. Extremely reasonably priced (the 2 large cheese pizzas special is only $11.99!) and worth twice what you pay. This is an authentic small-town diner filled with locals that know where to eat. The staff are local folks earning a living and will treat you with a southern smile and you could easily become a local if you go there more than once. Joe and Vito are the owner/operators and you can find them there every day. Great conversation mixed with hard work keeps their seats filled day after day.

Surf 'N Turf Baked Potato

The loaded surf-n-turf baked potato is an entire meal on its own. The named would lead you to believe it's only a pizza joint, but the owner, Joe White, is constantly adding new items to the menu, including this incredibly tasty meal that you have to try! Joe White grew up on Lake Anna after moving here from Ohio. He brings a multi-cultural flair to his food and he's a great conversationalist.

Don't let the name fool you, this restaurant has much more to offer than simply pies. One of the few establishments to offer breakfast in the area, the Floozie's Pancake Breakfast is amazing, served with your choice of sausage or bacon and topped with freshly whipped butter. Also worth trying: the omelettes. Say hi to the young ladies behind the counter, they give the place the southern charm it aims for. This restaurant also has a retro vibe and excellent decor.

Fried Oyster Dinner

The fried oyster dinner (cornmeal crusted & fried to perfection Chesapeake oysters) is served with a baked potato and slaw. With an artistic ambiance, Obrigado offers many choices in fine Mediterranean cuisine.

The Autenticos Chiles Rellenos are cheese-stuffed fried peppers, served with rice, beans, and tortillas, all available in this full service Mexican restaurant in the town of Mineral. Seats are limited.
